Microsoft Windows Server 2016Toote kirjeldus inglise keeles:
Windows Server 2016 is the cloud-ready operating system that supports customer workloads while introducing new technologies that make it easy for customers to transition to cloud computing when they are ready. Windows Server 2016 delivers powerful new layers of security along with Azure-inspired innovation for the applications and infrastructure that power business.
Editions overview Customers can choose from three primary editions of Windows Server, based on the size of the organization as well as virtualization and datacenter requirements:
Datacenter Edition is ideal for highly virtualized and softwaredefined datacenter environments.
Standard Edition is ideal for customers with low density or non-virtualized environments.
Essentials Edition is a cloud-connected first server, ideal for small businesses with up to 25 users and 50 devices. Essentials is a good option for customers currently using the Foundation Edition, which is not available with Windows Server 2016.
Windows Server 2016 features Windows Server 2016 customers benefit from a variety of new features. New features in Standard Edition include Nano Server and unlimited Windows Server containers; customers also receive rights to two Operating System Environments (OSEs) or Hyper-V containers. New features exclusive to Datacenter Edition include Shielded Virtual Machines, software-defined networking, Storage Spaces Direct, and Storage Replica; customers receive rights to unlimited OSEs or Hyper-V containers and unlimited Windows Server containers.
Virtualize without compromising securityUse Shielded Virtual Machines to help protect your virtual machines from a compromised fabric as well as improve your compliance. Shielded Virtual Machines are encrypted using BitLocker and will run on healthy hosts.
Protect administrator credentialsHelp guard administrator credentials from Pass-the-Hash attacks by using Credential Guard and Remote Credential Guard. Limit administrator privileges with Just-In-Time Administration and Just Enough Administration.
Protect the applications that run on your operating system, anywhere it’s deployedEnhance the protection of your applications on-premises or running in the cloud. Help ensure only trusted software runs on the server with Device Guard. Help protect against memory corruption attacks with Control Flow Guard. Help protect against known malware with Windows Defender optimized for server roles.
Detect security threats quicklyHelp detect suspicious behavior in the kernel or other sensitive processes with advanced auditing capabilities. Plus, use Microsoft Operations Management Suite Insights & Analytics tools to set up alerts and reporting.
Increase application isolationHelp protect container-based applications with Hyper-V containers. Use the distributed firewall, a software-defined networking capability, to control internal and external network traffic to virtual machines.
Save when you migrate workloads to the cloud with Hyper-VRun your workloads on Hyper-V, then easily migrate them from on-premises to a Windows Server virtual machine in the cloud.
Rely on unique built-in security for virtualized workloadsUse Shielded Virtual Machines to encrypt your virtual machines with BitLocker and help ensure they run only on hosts approved by the Host Guardian Service.
Upgrade with no downtimeUpgrade your Hyper-V and Scale-out File Server clusters to Windows Server 2016 without worrying about downtime for your application or workload—no new hardware needed.
Stay open and flexibleDeploy applications on multiple operating systems with best-in-class support for Linux on Hyper-V.
Reduce your datacenter footprintIncrease availability and reduce resource usage using the Nano Server installation option—it’s 25x smaller than a full deployment of Windows Server 2016.
Reduce storage costBuild highly available, scalable, software-defined storage solutions at a fraction of the cost of a storage area network (SAN) or network-attached storage (NAS). Storage Spaces Direct lets you use industry-standard servers with local storage.
Create affordable business continuityPrepare for the worst using synchronous storage replication for disaster recovery across datacenters.
Ensure storage resources for critical appsCentrally manage and monitor storage performance, control workload access to storage resources, and keep noisy neighbors from impacting performance using storage Quality of Service (QoS) policies.
Reduce capacity needs and cost structure with deduplicationUse improved data deduplication capabilities to support volume sizes up to 64 TB and file sizes up to 1 TB, plus gain volume space savings of up to 90 percent.
Run current applications on a secure, software-defined fabricRun your existing apps on Windows Server 2016 without modifying them. Take advantage of enhanced security and efficiency features in the fabric.
Move existing apps to containersMove your traditional applications into a modern DevOps environment with little or no code changes. Enable “write-once, run-anywhere” apps to deploy on-premises, to any cloud, or in a hybrid architecture with containers. It's consistency across dev, test, and production.
Build cloud and hybrid apps
Combine the benefits of containers with Nano Server, Azure Service Fabric, and Windows Server for true business agility in cloud-native apps. Create microservices applications using fewer and compressed resources. Develop faster using the lightweight Nano Server installation option. And use Service Fabric to build always-on, scalable, and distributed applications to run in Azure, on-premises, or both.
